It feels like summer, but I keep reminding myself that it’s technically spring still. Either way, the warmer weather has me feeling *inspired* and putting together some cute outfits for the summer. It’s time to pull out the colored shorts, sandals and printed tops.
I got both the top and shorts from J. Crew Factory. I love the ruffle details on both the shorts and the v-neck, and I love pairing the v-neck with colored dress pants or tucking it into a pair of dark jeans too. The top is made of thicker fabric, and actually works nicely in a business casual outfit. The shorts also come in yellow, and I wouldn’t mind trying to style those this summer either (I love yellow). Maddy from Confetti Closet does a great job at styling the yellow shorts if you need more inspiration (check out that post here).
For size reference, I bought the shorts in a size 2 and they were a little big at first, but I usually buy things from J. Crew a size bigger since I know they’ll shrink in the wash. Once I washed them, they fit a lot better. For tops, I always get a size small, since I like my shirts to have a little extra room in the shoulders and around the waist.
Switch the white belt (from Kohl’s a while ago) with a red one, and you also have a perfect Memorial Day/Fourth of July outfit.
